White House Decries 'Democratic Hoax' as Further Jeffrey Epstein Images Made Public
House Democrats have released a fresh batch of what they termed "alarming" photographs from the property of adjudicated sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, depicting notably Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and former British royal Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The opening batch of 19 photographs—a portion of which have been seen before—along with another 70 released later on Friday account for a minuscule portion of the almost 100,000 images provided to the House investigative panel, which is examining the conduct and connections of Epstein.
The shamed investor died by apparent suicide in a New York prison cell in 2019 after being accused of sex-trafficking charges.
Notable Figures in the Images
Featured among the high-profile individuals visible in the initial batch are well-known figures featuring film director Woody Allen; Microsoft founder Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin empire.
Donald Trump is featured in three of the initial 19 images. In one, he is seen with six women, whose faces are obscured.
Administration Reaction
The White House reacted to the release in a statement, alleging Democrats of purposefully "choosing" the photographs for electoral motives and to "seek to establish a false account."
"This Democratic fabrication against President Trump has been consistently disproven," a presidential representative said, maintaining that "the Trump administration has done more for Epstein's survivors than Democrats ever have by frequently urging openness, making public numerous documents of records, and demanding further investigations into Epstein's liberal connections."
Democratic Lawmaker Comment
The images were published without context, but as stated by a California Democrat and senior member of the investigative panel, they prompt further inquiries about Epstein's connections to the rich and powerful.
"It is time to halt this White House obfuscation and deliver justice to the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and his powerful friends," he said in a statement.
The publication of these materials occurs alongside the oversight committee proceeding with its probe into the Epstein case.
