Los Angeles experienced widespread festivities after the Los Angeles Dodgers clinched a nail-biting seven-match World Series championship. Fans across the globe united with local residents in celebration, marking the initial time in a quarter-century that a team has secured back-to-back championships.
Celebration Parade Attracts Enormous Crowds
Local celebrations featured a procession through the city center on the morning of the parade, a reserved-seating event at Dodger Stadium, and impromptu gatherings throughout the city.
Online footage show thousands of Los Angeles residents flooding city center avenues, many displaying homemade signs and Dodger flags. The squad was seen riding high on a open-top bus through the crowds, raising the Commissioner’s trophy high.
“I’m already thinking about the next championship we’re going to achieve this,” the star player remarked through an interpreter.
The procession path ended at the stadium, where the players walked out to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ providing music and Ice Cube driving a Pacific blue vintage Cadillac around the field.

Celebrations started well before the parade, with supporters setting off fireworks in the streets of the city center on the previous evening.
The World Series MVP, awarded the MVP of the championship, commented directly about the win.
“We refuse to lose,” he said. “I adore this team. This city means everything to me.”
Mixed Reactions and Community Spirit
However, Mark Walter was met with a less warm welcome at the celebration. Video footage from the event appear to show Walter walking onstage to a combination of applause and boos, with negative shouts interrupting his address.
The World Series acted as a positive moment in what has been a trying year for the city. An estimated 225,000 people attended to the Dodgers’ victory parade last year, and according to team member Freddie Freeman, fans this year demonstrated equal or greater support.
“I feel like it’s nearly twice from last year,” he said. “These fans are crazy. It’s truly amazing to be a part of this.”
