Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

The author

Best-selling young adult author and TV personality David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.

A representative for the publisher said: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was made after an review of reports of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at young women.

The firm did not confirm the reasons for its decision, adding: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."

A Prolific Writing Journey

Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

Some of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.

He has published over four dozen titles in total, encompassing a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.

From Screen to Page

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
