The tenth week once more provided excitement, with a huge upset for the Bills demonstrating the 'any given Sunday' mantra that attracts so many people into the NFL

That result could have created things up for the New England Patriots to creep back into a top spot they formerly held, with a remaining games that gives them an edge over their eight and two competitors

Over in the NFC the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had ideal outcomes to set up a monster clash next week, while our player of the week is chasing records as well as the MVP award

The Breakdown - Just a Bad Day for the Bills?

Josh Allen in action
Was Josh Allen attempt too much or was it just a bad day for Buffalo?

Was it just an emotional comedown from beating the Chiefs the previous week or a deeper issue? That's the question for the Bills to answer

The Bills had secured seven victories in a row against Miami but were second best from the beginning as the Dolphins ran out 30-13 victors in an surprising result - and performance

MVP quarterback Josh Allen only got the team's opening first down in the third period and first points in the fourth - yes the Dolphins had 10 days to get ready but it was still a massive egg produced by one of the NFL's top offences

Dolphins quarterback Tua threw two scores but rusher De'Von Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 total yards and two scores

Bottling up the NFL's top running game was also key, with Cook and company registering just eighty-six yards, their lowest of the season and slightly more than half their 161.5 yard average

Then there were the three critical ball losses, and the two from Josh Allen specifically. An pass caught by defense in the end zone resulting in a nine-minute drive yielded no points, and his final quarter dropped ball that the Dolphins converted to seven points just two plays

It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they hurt themselves in the foot, falling into a hole on defensive side and Allen trying to overcompensate to dig his team from the situation - not the calm, disciplined, well-balanced Bills we've seen this year

The Dolphins have served up a varied performances this year so the jury's out on if this is the start of something, but for Buffalo they'll need an immediate bounce-back in a tough game against Tampa Bay in week 11 as the New England are quietly moving into a comfortable advantage at the summit of the American Football Conference East

In Focus - Patriots Identify Route to Unexpected First Place

Speaking of the New England, they're one of three 8-2 teams in the league, all American Football Conference sides, but are they the top team?

One could pick holes in New England, the Broncos and Indianapolis actually for dominating the weaker opponents, with only five of their combined 24 victories coming against teams with a positive record - and one of those was the Colts beating the Broncos

The Broncos beat the champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are masters of the fourth-quarter while Indianapolis can rely on Jonathan Taylor, but the New England adding Sunday's win in Tampa to their prime time success in Buffalo seems like a statement

Their pair of losses occurred in recently appointed coach Mike Vrabel's initial three contests, with seven consecutive wins, similar to Denver, since then - but defeating Baker Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a bye to prepare was significant

Maye's MVP claims won't go away, and he certainly earns credit for courage after taking some hard tackles in Tampa Bay but hanging in there to steer his team to victory

The defensive unit is reliable and rookie rusher Henderson burst onto the scene on Sunday with 147 rushing yards and two exciting scores of 55 and 69 yards - establishing himself as just the fifth runner to exceed 22 miles per hour this season on his initial touchdown

Although you can argue who 'the top team' is technically, the Patriots should be favourites to finish with the best record thanks to their schedule - which features just a single matchup against a successful opponent, although a significant contest against the Bills

Visiting Baltimore is challenging too, but Denver have it even tougher in the AFC West with the Chiefs to play twice, the Los Angeles Chargers (who could also challenge for top seed but face the same problem) and also the Packers on the fixture list

The Indianapolis also play the Chiefs, and have the Seahawks, San Francisco and two matchups with the 5-4 Jacksonville to face. There's a considerable distance to travel but the door is open for a shock number one position in the AFC

Coming Up - Rams & Seahawks Prepare for Week 11 Clash

Both squads with strong arguments to be superior to all of the three different 8-2 sides are National Football Conference West opponents the Seattle and Los Angeles, who both scored 40 burgers to reach 7-2 ahead of next week's major meeting between the two in Los Angeles

Both have won four in a consecutive games, have signal callers in Matthew Stafford and Darnold playing at an high standard (although Sam Darnold had turnover issues on game day) with excellent pass catchers, and defensive units giving up fewer than twenty points a contest

Both could easily be without a loss as too - especially the Rams as their two defeats occurred in extra time against the 49ers and then that painful defeat in Philadelphia when they had a potentially winning kick with the final play deflected and returned by the Eagles for a touchdown

Seattle also lost to San Francisco, with a last-minute score in week one, before falling to the last kick of the game against the Tampa Bay - so they are genuinely among the best sides in the NFL

The upcoming game on Sunday could be the most exciting of the year so far
