Barça Set to Play Inaugural Match at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday

Barça revealed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome the Basque side in La Liga 30 months following their departure so building work could begin.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees can be present based on approved permits. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced completed upgrades featured a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

The club conducted a public practice inside the stadium in early November. They mentioned they were hoping for permission from Uefa to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
